I’ve resisted the idea of blogging because it’s hard for me to believe that anyone other than my friends and family are interested in the day to day happenings in my life, my thoughts and opinions (to be perfectly honest…I don’t think they’re always that interested). Since I’m giving it a try, I’m going to pretend for the next several minutes that I’m the center of the universe and you and anyone else who happens to be reading this are breathless with anticipation. What’s on San’s mind today…

In less than 30 days I’ll be 41 years old and in less than 14 days I’ll be giving birth to a baby girl. I’m having what is known in medical circles as an “advanced age pregnancy”. I’ve had several months to become accustomed to the idea and seeing so many other pregnant women in the obstetrician’s office of advanced age was helpful. Being the mother to a little girl will be a new experience for me…I have three very handsome intelligent boys. It goes without saying that my first prayer for Rande is that she be born healthy, but after that I wonder…is it better for a girl to be smart or pretty? I’m hoping she’ll be both, but if I had to choose…

My eight year old son said without hesitation that it’s better for a girl to be smart than pretty, but when I questioned him further he assured me that his wife will be smart and pretty. My five year old thinks that it’s important that a girl be “hot” a term he no doubt picked up from his older brother. What do you think?

In the last couple of minutes, I’ve decided to put in my request for a brilliant and normal looking girl. I’ll post her picture when she’s born, and you can let me know what you think... but only if you think she’s hot.

abundance
san
