I’m having what is known in medical circles as an “advanced age pregnancy”. I’ve had several months to become accustomed to the idea and seeing so many other pregnant women in the obstetrician’s office of advanced age was helpful. Being the mother to a little girl will be a new experience for me…I have three very handsome intelligent boys. It goes without saying that my first prayer for Rande is that she be born healthy, but after that I wonder…is it better for a girl to be smart or pretty? I’m hoping she’ll be both, but if I had to choose…
My eight year old son said without hesitation that it’s better for a girl to be smart than pretty, but when I questioned him further he assured me that his wife will be smart and pretty. My five year old thinks that it’s important that a girl be “hot” a term he no doubt picked up from his older brother. What do you think?
